Simulation boundary: This is a detailed browser game, not an approved ATC training device. The radar map is intentionally schematic. Published aerodrome facts, frequencies and procedure names are modelled, but live NOTAMs, classified military activity and real-time mission callsigns are not used.
Your objective
Safely and efficiently sequence a newly randomised traffic picture for the shift length you selected containing civilian airline movements, RAAF formation waves, linked training sorties, circuits, local general aviation, coastal VFR transits and priority rescue traffic at the joint-use Williamtown/Newcastle aerodrome. Keep aircraft separated, protect the runway, issue realistic clearances and avoid sending traffic into an active training or restricted area.
Positions
The website edition is
single-player. You can switch between
Clearance Delivery (ACD),
Ground/SMC,
Tower and
Williamtown Approach at any time. Start by clearing and taxiing departures, protect the runway through Tower, then switch to Approach when airborne or inbound traffic needs radar control. Cadet mode gives you much wider traffic spacing while you learn the workflow.
Published YWLM elements represented
Runway 12/30, 3058 × 45 m; ATIS 134.45; ACD 130.35; SMC 121.8; Tower 118.3; Approach High 133.3 and Low 135.7. Procedure modelling is based on Airservices Australia DAP 188, effective 03 September 2026. Included procedure families are WILLY FOUR, KEXAR ONE, LIMLO ONE, MONDO ONE, UBSON ONE ALPHA/BRAVO, ASUVA ONE, EKIPU TWO, IVTAG ONE, LAXUM TWO, OVLUX TWO and PUDUT ONE. Instrument choices are issued separately as ILS-Z RWY 12, LOC-Z RWY 12, RNP Z RWY 12 or RNP Z RWY 30; a visual approach is never substituted automatically. A STAR clearance assigns the lateral route and a cleared level. Further descent is issued with the ALT control as DESCEND VIA STAR, and published level and speed constraints remain enforced.

ISSUE. Clearance delivery, taxi, line-up, take-off, approach, landing, handoff and go-around instructions are all issued with dedicated buttons.
Scoring
Safety losses are severe for runway incursions, landing on an occupied runway, loss of separation and routing through active restricted areas. The separation engine applies public MATS-based 3 NM terminal/5 NM outer surveillance minima, 1,000 FT vertical separation, wake turbulence overrides, formation outer-limit buffers and dynamic runway standards. Efficiency falls with excessive delay or unstable arrival management. Realism improves when clearances are issued through the correct position and handoffs are completed at sensible stages.
Traffic authenticity
Civil operators and broad aircraft types reflect public Newcastle services. Military callsigns are representative scenario identifiers based only on publicly observed usage; they are not live operational identifiers. The No. 4 Squadron PC-21 scenario uses RAKE rather than MAGPIE to avoid assigning an unsupported callsign to that aircraft type. Westpac rescue traffic uses the AW139; emergency flights receive priority but still require coordination and separation.
Local VFR traffic includes aircraft representative of Luskintyre, Cessnock and Maitland operations. Coastal traffic uses the published NBB–ANA–PSS–BRI–SUG route and reverse. Civil VFR aircraft call Willy Delivery before the applicable clearance limit, receive a transponder code and clearance, then check in with Approach. Western transits are simulator ATC-assigned visual routings because the public ERSA does not publish a named Luskintyre/Cessnock/Maitland-to-coast route.
Fighter and trainer formations are represented as one controlled flight with one lead callsign. A ×2 or ×4 suffix shows the number of aircraft in the formation. The controller issues one clearance to the flight lead, while all aircraft maintain the same assigned route, level and speed as a coordinated formation.
